Quote of the Week
“They say an elephant never forgets. What they don’t tell you is, you never forget an elephant.”
– Bill Murray

Meet the Gentle Giants at Dera Amer, Rajasthan
Tucked deep in Rajasthan’s Aravalli hills, Dera Amer is a soulful wilderness retreat where you’ll share your stay with two of the camp’s most cherished residents—Laxmi and Rangmala, the elephants.
Begin your day bathing them at sunrise, then set off on a gentle forest walk alongside these curious companions and their mahouts.
Afterward, unwind in your Raj-style tent, dip into a natural swimming pool that sustains local wildlife, or dine al fresco while the scent of a live barbecue mingles with the desert air.
On World Elephant Day, few experiences feel more meaningful—or more magical—than this.
Enjoy Close-Up Views at Simbambili Game Lodge, Sabi Sand
There’s a quiet thrill to waking to the sounds of the African wilderness, sipping coffee as the mist lifts, then spotting a herd of elephants emerging from the bush at dawn. At Simbambili Game Lodge in South Africa’s celebrated Sabi Sand Reserve, moments like these come naturally.
From the privacy of your thatched suite, you can watch elephants drink at the nearby waterhole, or laze on your shaded sala bed as wildlife passes by.
Game drives reveal leopards slinking through the grass, while candlelit dinners and boma barbecues end each day in style.
Jungle Joy at Kipling Camp, Kanha, India
Walking Tara the elephant down to the river for her afternoon bath is a joyful ritual—and the heart of every stay at Kipling Camp. Gentle, intelligent and much loved, Tara offers guests a rare connection to the wild that lingers long after you leave.
Set on the edge of Kanha National Park, this family-run conservation retreat blends quiet luxury with deep purpose. Here, you’ll wander through sal forests, sip chai in peaceful village courtyards and fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle.
On World Elephant Day, few places honour these magnificent creatures with such warmth and heart.
