The History of The Malabar House
The Malabar House is a documented component of Fort Cochin's historical fabric, tracing its history back to 1755. Originally purchased by Jan Herman Clausing, a Dutch individual, from Mathew Henrich Beyls, the property exchanged hands over the years among spice traders, tea traders, and bankers. In 1997, it transitioned to become Fort Cochin's inaugural boutique heritage hotel.
